AGATHA RUIZ DE LA PRADA. "Fashion as an artistic element".

From March 11th to April 6th 1999.

In 1981 Agatha Ruiz de la Prada presented her first collection in Local, a center for design in Madrid, and she took part in the collective fashion show held at the Spanish Museum of Contemporary Art.
During the 1980’s she participated in many fashion shows, including Cibeles (in Madrid) and Contemporary (in Milan) and in exhibitions of her drawings. During those years she designed numerous collections: espardrilles Castañer, sheets for Burés, made out of transparent cloth for Videstil, etc, and she published drawings and texts, such as La Moda Cómoda (The comfortable fashion). In the 1990’s, her activities opened to new fields such as design for posters, record covers and book jackets, programs and other materials such as ceramics for Pamesa, watches, stationary, leather goods, and perfumes. Her creativity in fashion design extends to all facets, including collections of pajamas, handbags, jewelry, sports wear, etc. She received the International Ecology Delta d’Oro Award in Ferrara, Italy, in 1997.
